Our $50,000 disaster recovery donation for Queenslanders impacted by bushfires and how you can give too

Queensland Bushfires Latest News 1

The devastating fires affecting the Western Downs community of Tara have heralded a long hot summer, and the heightened risk of further bushfires for communities across the State.

The Tara community is still coming to terms with the aftermath of the recent fires, having lost 56 homes. Many residents are displaced and need support with basic essentials. A number of other people lost their homes in fires in parts of The Tablelands, in the State’s Far North and in the Gladstone region.

As these communities begin down the long road to recovery, we know they will need a range of on-the-ground responses to help them recover and rebuild.

Our donation on behalf of the Freemasons of Queensland

Hand Heart Pocket is today announcing a $50,000 donation to GIVIT, on behalf of our Members, to support recovery efforts for Tara and other Queensland communities impacted by bushfires. 100% of this $50,000 donation will go to helping affected residents rebuild their lives.

Our ongoing partnership with GIVIT means we can respond quickly on behalf of our Members, no matter when or where disasters occur across Queensland.

We have funds put aside for any further disaster recovery efforts that may be required during the summer, so we are well-positioned to be able to give quickly should disaster strike again.

If you would like to join the efforts to help people affected by these disasters in Tara and across the State, you can also donate funds directly to GIVIT, through the Hand Heart Pocket Disaster Relief Appeal. 100% of your donation will go directly to people affected by bushfires.
