Capital for social good

As Australia’s largest non-bank financier of social housing, Conscious Investment Management turns capital into safe, high-quality homes and other social infrastructure across Australia.
Hand Heart Pocket invested in a diversified impact fund managed by Conscious Investment Management in 2025, supporting specialist disability accommodation, affordable housing, renewable energy and social impact bonds.
In 2025, the fund financed 372 social and affordable homes, providing housing for 650 people, while Housing Australia Future Fund projects currently underway are expected to deliver a further 2,000 social and affordable housing outcomes.
A July 2025 tenant survey found 84% satisfied or very satisfied with their housing. Among them is a man named Louis, who had lived with Multiple Sclerosis for nearly twenty years before moving into suitable housing in Melbourne. He reports that his anxiety is almost gone, and he is learning so much from his neighbours about navigating the disability system while maintaining his dignity and self-direction.
The fund also delivered 33,073 MWh of renewable energy, offsetting 24,162 tonnes of CO₂, and financed three carbon farming projects planting more than 900,000 native trees and shrubs. The $424 million fund targets market returns above 7% and has deployed $528 million of impact capital alongside 13 impact partners.
By investing in this impact fund, Hand Heart Pocket is putting our capital to work in the same way we approach our giving – seeking real, measurable social and environmental outcomes while protecting the long-term strength of our portfolio.
