Becoming a parent brings both joys and challenges. Thriving Young Families - Step by Step is built around that reality, giving young families access to support that’s right for them to reach their goals and help their children thrive.

Hand Heart Pocket invested in a diversified impact fund managed by Conscious Investment Management in 2025, supporting specialist disability accommodation, affordable housing, renewable energy and social impact bonds.

Since 2020, Hand Heart Pocket has partnered with Save the Children through the Life Skills for Success program to support young people in Papua New Guinea to build the skills, confidence, and pathways needed to pursue education, livelihoods, and employment opportunities.

Since our partnership with Youth Insearch began in 2020, they have supported 804 young people aged 12-24 through weekend workshops, weekly local support groups and peer mentoring, along with case management by Support Workers.

For one young Queensland woman, a dream of joining the Australian Defence Force has become a reality, with the support of her Mentors at Stars Foundation.

When 20-year-old Lisa* walked through the doors of YFS this time last year, she had a newborn, limited support and had been newly diagnosed with a disability. In the space of a year, mentors at YFS have supported her to navigate her way through the NDIS process, to build support networks, secure and sustain housing and engage in further study.

Hand Heart Pocket has been supporting the Life Skills for Success program in Port Moresby and in the Morobe Province since 2020.
